Railroad Tycoon II Maps

Published Maps:

US at the Cross Roads

It's the late 1970s and the US railroads are at the cross roads. Passengers have been palmed off to Amtrak. There are plenty of good to haul, but can it be hauled profitably?

Col du Mont Cenis

Build the first rail crossing of the Alps and connect France and Italy, initially using a rack mountain railway, and eventually the first of the great alpine tunnels.

Chicago North Shore Line

Build America's ultimate interurban rail line between Chicago and Milwaukee.

The Oodnadatta Track

Complete the rail line between Adelaide and Darwin through central Australia.

This is the best of my Aussie scenarios. I've re-created the vast distances, low population, disperse resources and parochial/provincial guage incompatibilities. Best of all, this map can be played to completion in a single sitting.

Sri Lanka

A production chain puzzel set in the teardrop nation.

Australia 1910

(My first effort, ant it's shocker. So please don't try this one unless you enjoyed all the others!)

navigate the minefield of Australian railway politics and guage incompatibilities to forge the much needed transcontinental link.

Unpublished (elsewhere) Maps:

Building America

Build the heart of Americas rail network the way the Americans did: one company at a time, and in the process become the world's first true billionaire! This might look like a standard American map but after the first goal it plays very differently. I think this is the most enjoyable of my self made maps. I think it re-creates the feel of American railroading, with it's multiple competing and sometimes co-operating companies. The only problem is it takes a long time to play to completion.

And don't forget to save your game 10 years before WWII !!

Building Australia

Build Australia's rail network the way the aussies did: one state at a time! I tried to re-create the feel of Australia railways with this scenario, with it's parochialism and guage incompatibilities. I did. To win, you end up creating a real mess!!! Again, this map takes a long time to play to completion.

African War

Use the power of rail to conquer the Dark Continent in this military goal driven scenario.

It's a basically builder's map, with different goals beyond just making a profit.
